The Man. The Myth. The Legend.
It’s hard to put into words just how excited we are to start taking orders on Dario Pegoretti Bicycles. While we want to tell you how cool they are - and rest assured, these are really cool - for those in the know, there is no need for an introduction.
Steel frames, custom built and painted in Verona, Italy.
There’s nothing abnormal about a bike company talking about tailoring a bike to your wants and needs, but when a company starts to mention bespoke shirts and talented chefs, artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and musicians like Stevie Ray Vaughn, your expectations take a left turn and are piqued and intrigued.
Finished with Pegoretti’s trademark flourishes and Dario’s flamboyant style and creative finesse, the frames themselves are a demonstration in functional simplicity and technical know-how, but they aren’t cool for just these things, they’re cool because riders like Indurain, Pantani, Roche and Cipollini all had their frames made by him; their race bikes clad in sponsors’ decals belying the secret beneath; they chose to ride a Pegoretti.
This is the thing, it’s not one aspect of Dario Pegoretti Bikes that makes them great, no one thing. It’s the fact that they are more than the sum of their parts, a modern classic full of tradition and respect being carried on by his family and longtime assistant, the bottega and ciavete studio.
We can not wait to start talking about steel and the infinite possibilities of custom paint and finishes. We have our favourites and some ideas to offer, but ultimately, owning a Pegoretti is about you. Dario wouldn’t have it any other way.
